And we're back...

I kind of took an unexpected hiatus. Ooops.

Work has been crazy. A new person started working from MY office and let's just say it hasn't been a joy. I have been experiencing some intense headaches due to the fact that she wears heavy scented products. Needless to say, I can't wait to have my office back.

I have been doing good with my goal. I have contributed $500 towards my debt and $500 towards my savings. Go me! Things are going swimmingly. That is, until I visited the American Apparel website today. I had no idea that there was an American Apparel in my close proximity. Now I am itching to buy things! Summer is approaching and I need some cut new things.

One of my favorite style is the reverse tulip skirt/dress. I swoon when I see skirts and dresses in this style. I especially love when the skirts/dresses have pockets......I just blacked out thinking about tulip skirts with pockets. American Apparel has plenty of cute tulip style skirts in cotton that you can dress up or down. I really need to get my butt there.

Picture: a cute black tulip dress from ASOS. (Why do the majority of things I like have to be from Europe)

Here' the link for anyone luck enough to purchase it.

Want to share any tulip dresses or skirts? Please do!

Found: Bidz

Something that I find very amusing in the world is the idea of ownership. Especially with trends. I find if someone hears about it, finds its or wear it first they think they own it. If it's a trend, a piece of clothing or a certain store you can't own rights to it. You just can't.

I find it even more amusing when people bitch about it. They actually think someone ripped them off. It's like they can't fathom the idea that another person in the world enjoys the same thing or have a similar fashion sense? They are that much of a big deal, obviously everyone wants to be them.

It just goes to show how self-important some people think they are. The internet is a big place. Just because you think you did it first doesn't mean you did. Who are you to say someone is copying off of you. The moral of the story is: don't flatter yourself too much.

Personally, I think if you spend all your time thinking people are copying you, want to be you or are jealous of you, you are obviously a very shallow person. Unless someone is stealing your words, letter for letter, don't open your big mouth and complain about it.

Now onto a lighter topic.

I stumbled upon this site awhile back that I am sure most of you are aware of: I absolutely love it. I have already purchased three over sized gemstone rings. If you're anything like me and enjoy a deal you should check it out!

I am trying to use this blog as an inspiration: 1. to pay off my current debt and 2. to save money. By doing this, I hope to reach my goal of buying a house. My current living situation is less than perfect. It has it's pluses. The biggest being that I live for free.

Between my boyfriend, myself and our two dogs there just isn't enough space. We don't even have enough space for our clothing. At this very moment, I am starring at a pile of clothes in our living room. The lack of room makes me feel so claustrophibic. The biggest reason I hate the lack of space is the fact that it always looks messy.

For quite some time now I have been considering getting a line of credit or a loan to pay off my debt. Today I took some action and put the wheels in motion. Well the verdict is in. I applied for a loan and I was...DENIED. Apparently, I make too much money to qualify for a loan. Makes total sense.

Now I am praying that this experiment works!

Want it!

I love, love, love a good dress. The thing that draws me to a dress is the simplicity. No running around to find the perfect top to go with those pants. The freedom to move you. The ability to dress it up or down. Aww...perfection.

I was thrilled when I stumbled upon Ruche: a modern boutique with a vintage look. I was even more thrilled when I looked at their prices. So affordable!!!

My favorite dress has to be this one.

It's so light and breezy. Thankfully, it's sold out. I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from buying it.

Spotted: birdzNbeez

I don't know what it is about lockets but they make me swoon on the inside. I absolutely love them. I have always had them but I never used them properly (read: put pictures in them). So my love for them remains a mystery.

I think a big draw for me is the vintage feel of lockets. I love the vintage look. I have always been fascinated by history and learning about the periods that have past. I think lockets represent a time for me when women wore beautiful gowns and romance was prominent. Le Sigh.

I was thrilled when I stumbled upon birdzNbeez on Etsy. Here is a little description of what the birdzNbeez has to offer.

My unique, original jewelry designs feature vintage watch movements, antique silver plate and aged brass, embellished with vintage glass beads, swarovski crystals, semi precious stones and pearls.

One of my favorite lockets has to be this scented locket. I love the idea of a scented locket. Too bad scent policies are so strong now.

I also love this heart shaped locket. It's so classical looking. The sparrows that hold the chain are just the right little added touch.

There are so many more pieces that you can find through the birdzNbeez. It was hard to pick just two. If I was a millionaire I would buy the store out.

So the experiment has begun. It looks like I just added $60 to my savings account. I hope someone else will enjoy these for me. They are too precious to pass up.

An Experiment of Sorts

I wouldn't say I am greedy. Spoiled, maybe, which isn't entirely my fault.

I am very fortunate. I never went without when I was younger. My family made sure I had the best of everything. If I wanted something I usually got it. I think that is how my problem started.

I have been working since I was 16. I have always had a job so I could afford to buy clothes. Clothes are my weakness. Beautiful, beautiful clothes. I enjoyed having my own money so much that I developed a bit of a spending problem.

Some people may call me a shopaholic but I think that sugar coats the issue. I am going to tell you the truth. I have compulsive spending disease. It has gotten so bad that I can drop $50 at the dollar store on junk and not think twice about it. It's money. You can't take it with you.

As you may have already guessed, I have zero savings and mild debt. I want to fix both of these problems. But the compulsive spending disease keeps getting in my way.

The internet is one of my biggest hobbies. This so called hobbie tends to feed my disease. I see something online and I want. There are so many beautiful things out there. I have tried to stop looking but I just can't. I need to know what is out there.

Then I had an idea. I have always loved reading blogs but never felt that I had enough to talk about. Then it dawned on me that I could use a blog to help cure me. How am I going to do that?

Every time I see something that I want I will post it on this blog to share with others. At the same time, I will put the amount of the item that I want to own but refuse to buy into savings or towards my debt.

Voila. An experiment has been born. We will see how long this will last. I really hope it works. I know I can't stop spending all together. I need essentials like food and gas. However, I am determine to save money because my big want is my very own house. Wish me luck :)
